Product Benefits

The ratchet torque limiter is set at two to three times the median torque to be transmitted, which ensures that it can withstand the required torque while providing protection against overloads. During operation, the spring-loaded ratchets try to re-engage the grooves in the housing, generating small torque peaks and noise as a warning to the operator. The product has a one-way ratchet torque limiter, which permits higher settings compared to symmetrical units with an equal number of ratchets.

Material and Installation

This product can be supplied in either symmetrical or one-way types. One-way ratchet torque limiters transmit only 15% of the torque setting when rotated opposite the normal working direction. The product is supplied in different versions with different lubrication frequencies. It has a push-pin type connection to the splined shaft and a ball collar type connection. This product should be used only on drivelines operating at speeds less than 700 min-1.

Maintenance and Repair

The product requires a 50-hour lubrication interval (NLGI 2 grease) for version SA (one-way) and version LN (symmetrical). The product can be adapted to different models, and the required model name should be provided to get the most accurate quotation. The product should be promptly stopped during use to avoid excessive wear once it starts slipping.
