Structure of the pulley: The pulley consists of three parts: the rim, the web (spokes), and the hub.
The rim is the working part of the pulley, with trapezoidal grooves. The hub is the coupling part of the pulley and the shaft, and the rim and the hub are connected as a whole by the spokes (web).

1、Design requirements of V belt pulley

(1) The pulley should have sufficient strength and stiffness, without excessive casting stress;
(2) Small and evenly distributed mass, good structural process, easy to manufacture;
(3) It should be dynamically balanced when the rotational speed is high;
(4) Wheel groove working surface should be smooth, in order to reduce the wear of the belt.

2、Materials of Belt Pulley

The material of the pulley mainly adopts cast iron, steel, aluminum alloy or engineering plastics, etc. Gray cast iron is the most widely used. Commonly used material grades are HT150 (v ≤ 25m / s) or HT200 (v = 25 ~ 30m / s); higher speed is recommended to use ductile cast iron, cast steel or forged steel, but also with the use of steel plate stamping and then welded pulleys. Small power can be cast aluminum or plastic and other materials.
