Overview
The MG1 MG12 MG13 MG1S20 series Rubber bellow mechanical seal for water pump is a single and twin seal designed for easy shafts. With an elastomer bellows rotating, it is independent of direction of rotation and has no torsion on bellows, making it suitable for various applications. The seal face is driven via “L” ring and the spring, making it suitable for waste water containing solids or for sewage water.
Product Variants
There are four product variants available in this series. The MG12 and MG13 have dimensions, objects, and designations same as for MG1, but with an extended bellows tail to achieve the fitting length according to EN 12756 in combination with seat G6 or G60. The MG1S20 has an extended bellows tail to achieve the special fitting length I. The RMG12 is similar to MG12, but with a unique bellows surface on the shaft side.
Operating Range
The shaft diameter of the seal ranges from d1 = 10 … 100 mm (.39″ … 3.94″). The pressure ranges from p1 = 16 bar (230 PSI), vacuum … .5 bar (7.25 PSI), up to 1 bar (14.5 PSI) with seat locking. It has a temperature range of t = -20 °C … +140 °C (-4 °F … +284 °F) with a sliding velocity of vg = 10 m/s (33 ft/s) and admissible axial movement of ±2. mm (±0,08″).
Materials
The seal face is made of carbon graphite antimony impregnated (A), carbon graphite resin impregnated (B), or silicon carbide (Q1, eSiC-Q7). The seat is made of silicon carbide (Q1, eSic-Q7) or tungsten carbide (U3). The elastomer is made of NBR (P), EPDM (E), FKM (V), or HNBR (X4). The metal parts are made of CrNiMo steel (G) or Hastelloy® (M).
Installation, Maintenance, and Repair
The MG1 MG12 MG13 MG1S20 series Rubber bellow mechanical seal for water pump can be installed easily. The seal face should be protected during installation due to unique bellows design. It is insensitive to shaft deflections because of its large axial motion capability. The seal length offers shaft protection over the complete seal length, providing flexibility due to a wide supply of materials. It is suitable for low-end sterile applications.
