The EPT SMR Shaft Mounted Speed Reducer Gear Box is a metric gear box with power ratings to AGMA standards. The gears are carburized for long life and have a ground profile (some intermediate pinions are shaved) crown tooth profile, in conformance with ISO 1328-1997. It has a close-grain cast iron construction for excellent vibration dampening and shock resistance features. The shafts are made of strong alloy steel that is hardened, ground on journals, gear seatings, and extensions for maximum load and torsional loads. The gear box has anti-run back system backstops available on all 13:1 and 20:1 ratio units and does not recommend for 5:1 units.
